The League of Champions is a computer-simulated baseball league that uses Diamond Mind Baseball to recreate the prior season of Major League Baseball. The season starts in January, ends in April, and uses real-life statistics from the MLB season that ended the previous October.
Team owners are responsible for drafting their rosters, trading, and setting their lineups. The Commissioner runs the games, and posts them to the web site.
Important announcements and breaking news items are posted to the discussion forum.
Visit the rules page for information on player eligibility, keeper limits and other roster requirements.
The DMB Stats page is the replacement for the spreadsheet you get from most leagues. These are real-life stats directly from Diamond Mind, and include all the relevant information for player evaluation, including hitting stats, pitching stats, and all Diamond Mind assigned ratings. The Diamond Mind season disk is typically available in December of each year, and the statistics are loaded onto the website shortly afterwards.
Click on a player name from the DMB Stats page, and you can see all of the DMB statistics and ratings for that particular player, including all historical years that have been loaded onto the website. I have chosen a limited selection of the almost limitless amount of statistics that Diamond Mind provides for these pages. If a statistic you sorely need is missing, contact me, and I'll see what I can do.
The Draft Tracker shows the schedule and detail for the player draft for the current season. The Due Date shows when draft lists must be received by the Commissioner. Draft lists are sent to the Commissioner via e-mail or private message on the forum. The Status shows the progress of each round. Click on the round number, and see up-to-date information on each round as it progresses. View the current owner of each pick, the original owner, and the players selected as picks are made.
Stats & Reports is the page with the results for the simulated schedule, updated nightly during the LoC season. This is where to go to find current standings, league leaders, team reports, or any other statistics related to the running of the League of Champions.
The History page tells of the long, strange history of the league which evolved from a junior high dice-based league founded by Mario Lanza into the computer-simulated web-based keeper league of today run by yours truly, Todd Slavinsky. Historical stat reports are available on this page in DMB format back to 2001, and season recaps and stats are available as far back as 1998.
The Waiting Pool is the current list of people who have expressed interest in owning a League of Champions franchise when one becomes available.
